Prolific songwriter, performer, and actor Hudson Thames has shared his timeless new ballad “Wrong” – a diary of his inner struggle with art and relationships. The track showcases nods to iconic songwriters like Elton John, Billy Joel, and Paul McCartney, and is accompanied by a coming-of-age music video.
“I think, or at least I hope, that ‘Wrong’ touches on a subject that all artists have experienced to some degree; How much of a ‘normal’ life do I get to have?,” says Hudson. “Seemingly, art and performing have always been at odds with any relationship that I have been in. The relationship I share with my music is quite demanding in its own rite. And when it requires all of me, it feels difficult to make space for anything else. This song is me, in a new chapter of my life, trying to make some sense of that. I still don’t have the answer. But that is the point of everything that I make; to open up the conversation in hopes of finding one.”
“Wrong” will be featured on Hudson Thame’s debut album alongside cuts produced by Stephan Moccio (The Weeknd, Miley Cyrus) and planned for release in January 2025.
A product of a honkey-tonk piano player father, Rat Pack Vegas performers, and a crew of skate rats from The San Fernando Valley, Hudson’s pop sensibility has old school roots. Hudson’s work also features collaborations with Jamie Cullum, Ross Golan, Kelsy Karter and Wes Period.
When Hudson isn’t busy playing music, he can be found sharing his talents on-screen. Bursting onto the stage at only 13 years old, Hudson’s acting career began with roles in Tony Award-winner Jason Robert Browns’ 13 the Musical alongside Ariana Grande, Distracted with Rita Wilson, and Falsetto’s with Jason Alexander. He also has landed roles on acclaimed shows like The Secret Life of the American Teenager and Mad Men, to name a few. Currently, Thames is gearing up to star in Disney+’s new animated Spider-Man series Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man as the voice of Peter Parker.
