Rising new Vancouver, Canada hip-hop artist, Shelailai shares her infectious second single “BY YOU,” accompanied by a fun music video.
The sparkling new cut is a heady mix of sun-drenched guitar licks and dreamy, ethereal vocals woven between Shelailai’s trademark speed raps on the post-breakup gloom.
The LA-based artist is shaped by the vibrant music and art community of her native Vancouver, spending her weekends at open-mic nights, working on her award-winning stop-motion animations and crate digging at her local record store discovering gems and obscure samples.
“BY YOU” is the follow up to Shelailai’s recent debut single “GOODTIME.” A kaleidoscope of sonic texture, the earworm cut was produced by Zach and Roger (ASAP Rocky, 2Chainz) and arrived last month to much acclaim.
Shelailai is now working with some of the biggest producers on the scene including Oscar Scheller (PinkPantheress, Shygirl, NewJeans) & Slush Puppy (Nessa Barrett, Dorian Electra) setting her on a path to become one of the most exciting rising stars in hip-hop.
