Chicago native (Miami-based) songwriter Emmy Adelle has shared her moody electro-pop debut single “Over,” available to stream now on all DSPs worldwide. Diving into the messiness of young love and heartbreak, the track is melodi and introspective, and features a sonically diverse blend of production.
“‘Over’ is a deeply personal track that discusses stuff we all go through but rarely admit out loud,” says Adelle. “I wrote it during a pretty crazy time in my life, trying to make sense of the highs and lows of a situationship that felt like a rollercoaster. The lyrics capture those fleeting moments of happiness and thrifted jeans mixed with the sting of separation. It’s a snapshot of a spark that was both intense and short-lived.”
Originally from the Chicago suburbs and currently based in Miami, multi-faceted Emmy Adelle is a half Filipino artist creating a fusion of organic and electronic pop with haunting melodies – all from her bedroom. Growing up as an only child, singing has been her outlet of emotional expression since performing One Republic’s “Stop and Stare” in her second grade talent show.
From writing her first songs as an “anxious wreck” in elementary school, to turning down a Division 1 college hockey offer to pursue her creative passions, to collaborating with established producers Cole Kruggel (Juice WRLD, Tory Lanez), and Danny Garcia (Ariana Grande, Jason Derulo, Bryce Vine), Emmy Adelle has been honing her artistry since childhood in preparation for this moment. Drawing inspiration from Olivia Rodrigo, Juice WRLD, Odesza, and Troye Sivan, Emmy Adelle ‘s energetic and emotionally captivating debut electro-pop single “Over” is the first of multiple releases to come this year.
