One of recorded music's absolute classics

To mark the 60th anniversary of John Coltrane’s masterpiece album, A Love Supreme, Impulse! Records is releasing a limited run pressing on diamond vinyl.

A Love Supreme is recognized as one of recorded music’s absolute classics. Released 60 years ago, Monday, December 9 2004 marked six decades since the album was recorded in a single evening session.

Recorded at Van Gelder Studio in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey, playing the tenor sax in a quartet including pianist McCoy Tyner, bassist Jimmy Garrison, and drummer Elvin Jones. The four-part suite is a landmark in the field of spiritual jazz and jazz as a whole, ushering the genre and Coltrane’s career into a new era.
