Elliott Smith’s Album ‘XO’ is Now Part of  Interscope’s Vinyl Subscription Service

1st ever vinyl pressing on 180-gram brown wax

Elliott Smith’s 1998 album XO is considered one of the ’90s masterpieces already had a digital deluxe edition.

Now, the album is being issued to commemorate Smith’s 55th birthday (August 6, 2024). This will be the album’s first-ever vinyl pressing on 180-gram brown wax. Elliott Smith‘s XO is available exclusively as this month’s offering of The Interscope Vinyl Collective, a monthly subscription that celebrates the label’s vast catalog by introducing classic albums to a new generation of fans.

XO has been expanded to include nine tracks recorded and released during the XO era and features a handful of sought-after B-sides released on the UK singles for “Waltz #2” and “Baby Britain.” Included amongst the treasures are the instrumental “Our Thing,” the kinetic “How To Take A Fall,” the propulsive “The Enemy Is You” and the full band version of “Some Song (Alternate Version).”

Also included here is the demo of “Waltz #1” and an early version of “Bottle Up and Explode!,” as well as a remix of “Baby Britain” and a radio edit of “Waltz #2.” It’s rounded out with the famed, Oscar-nominated “Miss Misery,” which was included as a bonus track on the Japanese edition of XO. Aside from “Waltz #1 (Demo),” “Our Thing” and “Miss Misery,” all of the bonus songs are making their vinyl debut.

Spread across two LPs, the packaging features a 2-LP gatefold jacket with deluxe edition cover art and includes a limited edition lithograph of Elliott Smith. The records are individually numbered and limited to 4,000 units globally.
