Acclaimed folk-pop singer-songwriter Yoke Lore has released his eagerly awaited new single, “The Score,” available via his own Yell House Records distributed by Thirty Tigers. The track – which is already a fan favorite after a viral series of social media teases – is accompanied by an official music video.
“Love as an orientation tool. Eyes like dials,” says Yoke Lore. “As if a compass or a clock or a level. There is a physical awareness to the soothe of balance. Like how the body uses sickness to communicate danger. The heart will put up walls. But paradise is built with persistence. And passion is a way of living. The game is knowing where you are. Orientation over location. Because ignorance isn’t bliss, it’s ignorance. And love keeps the score.”
Yoke Lore will celebrate “The Score,” and more new music to come, with “The Autumn Amble: An Introspective Spectacular,” an epic US headline tour getting underway October 25 at Roseville, CA’s Goldfield Trading Post and then traveling until late November. Yoke Lore – a.k.a. Los Angeles-based multi-instrumentalist, dancer, and visual artist Adrian Galvin – has been immersed in music for his whole life. Having grown up in Katonah, NY among a highly creative, intensely spiritual family, his musical journey began with countless bands, including a role as founding member of Walk The Moon, with whom he co-wrote the chart-topping debut single, “Anna Sun.” A gifted visual artist, Galvin also explored dance and co-founded the dance company Boomerang in the mid 2010’s. Yoke Lore’s full-length debut, Toward a Never Ending New Beginning, arrived at last in 2023, solidifying Galvin’s distinctive approach with thoughtful reflection and raw, unfiltered honesty, transcending songcraft and genre into an intricately hewed vision altogether his own.
