Seattle pop visionary Anna Thompson has shared her boundary-defying debut album never let me fall in love again!, available to stream now on all DSPs worldwide. Anna was inspired to write the album after a first date that led to a tumultuous situationship. The album was co-produced by Fluencie, and fully embodies Anna’s evolution as an artist – showcasing an array of pop, dance, and electro-pop elements that blend perfectly with her soulful vocals.
“This album was an accident,” says Thompson. “After my first serious long term relationship came to an end, I had to brave the journey of dating as an adult. I didn’t anticipate the first date I’d go on to result in one of the most inspirational songwriting experiences of my life. For the first time in my career, I wasn’t writing love songs. Having a new muse was liberating.”
Anna Thompson’s journey into music began at a young age with a profound admiration for Carrie Underwood’s path on American Idol. Discovered by Mike Caren at APG/Atlantic at the tender age of 16 and offered a recording contract, Anna embarked on a major label adventure that, while not ending as expected, provided invaluable insights. A transformative writing retreat in Seattle in 2020 marked a turning point, where Anna solidified her confidence in songwriting, paving the way for her debut album.
“From intense heartbreak, to being single, to downloading a dating app, to making an album; for the first time, I fell in love with myself,” Anna goes on to say. “And for that, I’m very pleased my prophecy didn’t come true.”
