Premiere: Buzzing Artist BAYEM Unveils Infectious New Pop Burner “Wreck”

A bouncy, infectious anthem dripping with '80s pop nostalgia

We’re stoked to be sharing the exclusive premiere of up-and-coming indie artist BAYEM‘s latest single, “Wreck,” before its wide release tomorrow, 12/11.

It’s a bouncy, infectious anthem dripping with ’80s pop nostalgia, that feels tailor-made for late-night city cruises under glowing streetlights. With shimmering synths, punchy beats, and a hook that sticks like neon tape, “Wreck” captures the magic of movement, music, and the open road.

Bayem has this to say about the song, “‘Wreck’ came at a very interesting moment in my lifeFinding myself in a healthy and stable relationship was both exciting and intimidating. When you’ve gotten used to rollercoaster-style relationships, there’s really an adjustment period after entering into a positive feedback loop. The song was a way for me to channel that energy and be succinct in how I felt about it.”

From the first pulsating bassline, he sets the stage for a ride you don’t want to end. The production is laden full of glittering synths and crisp drums evoking a soundscape reminiscent of current pop icons like The Weeknd and Maroon 5.

The song’s energy is electric yet controlled, its rhythm perfect for cruising or losing yourself on a packed dancefloor. BAYEM’s smooth, soulful vocals glide effortlessly over the beat, delivering a melody that’s as catchy as it is emotive.

“Wreck” is the latest offering off BAYEM’s upcoming EP and proves he can create soundscapes you want to get lost in.

25 year old BAYEM hails from Indianapolis. Raised in a musical family, he was exposed at an early age to underground house, acid jazz, neo soul, and mainstream music. His songs interpret this diverse well of influence in a wholly unique way, with his raw perspective on life and culture being aptly manifested in his fresh lyrical depth and undeniable hooks.
