Fleetwood Mac, one of the most successful pop/rock bands ended their time together following the death of Christine McVie in 2022.
Now, director Frank Marshall is set to create a new authorized documentary exploring the history of Fleetwood Mac for Apple.
The band’s story will be told through their own lens in Marshall’s new film which features interviews with Mick Fleetwood, John McVie, Lindsey Buckingham, Stevie Nicks and the late Christine McVie.
“I am fascinated by how this incredible story of enormous musical achievement came about,” Marshall said in a statement.
The director, who has previously helmed documentaries on the likes of The Beach Boys and The Bee Gees, continued: “Fleetwood Mac somehow managed to merge their often chaotic and almost operatic personal lives into their own tale in real time, which then became legend. This will be a film about the music and the people who created it.”
At this stage, the announced Fleetwood Mac documentary is yet to receive a release date or a title, but more information is expected to be revealed in due course.
Over the course of several decades, the group went through several different incarnations after initially billing themselves as Peter Green’s Fleetwood Mac after their inaugural leader. Due to his mental health struggles, Green walked away from the group, but they kept the torch alive and eventually recruited Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham in the 1970s, who pushed Fleetwood Mac to incredible heights in a commercial and artistic sense.
