A24 Dropped the First Trailer for Daniel Craig’s New Movie ‘Queer’

Based on the novel by William S. Burroughs

Renowned studio A24 has revealed the first look and trailer for their Luca Guadagnino directed new movie Queer. Featuring a tender and transfixing Daniel Craig, alongside Outer Banks breakout star Drew Starkey, Lesley Manville, Jason Schwartzman, Henrique Zaga, and Omar Apollo.

Synopsis:

1950. William Lee, an American expat in Mexico City, spends his days almost entirely alone, except for a few contacts with other members of the small American community. His encounter with Eugene Allerton, an expat former soldier, new to the city, shows him, for the first time, that it might be finally possible to establish an intimate connection with somebody.

Queer is based on the semi-autobiographical 1985 novel by subversive American writer William S. Burroughs, whose work helped define the Beat Generation.

Slated for a limited release in theaters on November 27, it reunites Luca Guadagnino with screenwriter Justin Kuritzkes, who scripted his other awards contender this year, the acclaimed love triangle picture Challengers, starring Zendaya, Josh O’Connor, and Mike Faist, for Amazon MGM Studios.

Nine Inch Nails’ Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, who worked with Luca Guadagnino on Bones and All and Challengers, did music for Queer.

Produced by Lorenzo Mieli and Guadagnino, Queer premiered at the 81st Venice International Film Festival on September 3, 2024, where it played in-competition for the Golden Lion.
