Popular Manga Series Oshi No Ko is Getting a Season 3 of its Anime

With a reveal of two new cast members

Kadokawa has officially announced that Oshi no Ko, the popular manga by Aka Akasaka and Mengo Yokoyari, is getting season 3 of its anime adaptation. This announcement came with a special visual and video. Along with the season reveal, two new cast members were introduced: Mamoru Miyano as Hikaru Kamiki and Hina Kino as Tsukuyomi.

Season 2 of Oshi no Ko dropped on July 3 and has already captured hearts across Japan, airing on over 29 channels and streaming on ABEMA. For international viewers, HIDIVE offers the English dub, allowing a global audience to stay up-to-date with the show’s latest episodes.

The second season focuses on the intense 2.5D stage play titled “Tokyo Blade,” a fictional play within the anime that adapts a manga. Some key characters taking the stage include Kana Arima (voiced by Megumi Han), Akane Kurokawa (voiced by Manaka Iwami), and Aqua Hoshino (voiced by Takeo Ōtsuka). Several new voice actors joined this season, such as Kōki Uchiyama, Yūsuke Kobayashi, Ayane Sakura, and Daisuke Ono.

The first season of the anime premiered in April 2023, quickly becoming a massive success, with its 90-minute debut episode breaking records on HIDIVE. In fact, it became the platform’s “#1 series launch in history.”

The Oshi no Ko manga, which started in 2020, has been equally celebrated. It won several prestigious awards, including the Next Manga Awards and the Kodansha Manga Awards. With over 3 million copies in circulation, it continues to grow in popularity.

Fans also have more to look forward to beyond the anime. A live-action series will debut on Amazon Prime Video this November, followed by a sequel film in theaters this December. Additionally, a stage play adaptation of the “2.5D Stage Play arc” will run in Osaka from December 26-29.
