Flickering Myth site reports that, according to Chris Carter, the man behind the original X-Files, the Black Panther and Fruitvale Station director Ryan Coogler is working on a reboot of The X-Files.
Having seemingly closed the files for good following 2018’s lackluster revival series, it appeared that the only way we’d get to see more spooky goings-on was in FOX’s rumored animated spin-off, which is still yet to emerge.
Carter’s scoop came while appearing on CBC’s On the Coast With Gloria Macarenko, claiming that Ryan Coogler is set to work on a reboot of The X-Files. Carter said “I just spoke to a young man… Ryan Coogler… who is going to remount The X-Files with a diverse cast. So he’s got his work cut out because we covered so much territory.”
Coogler is no stranger to reinvention, having resurrected the Rocky franchise with the phenomenally successful Creed series.
