As a number of sources report, Pink Floyd will release a new box set of The Dark Side of the Moon to celebrate the album’s 50th anniversary. This CD and vinyl set will be released on March 24, 2023, and will include the first standalone LP release of Live at Wembley Empire Pool, London, 1974, as well as a newly remastered version of the album.
At the same time, there will be a separate release of a 50th-anniversary photo book that is included in the box set. Also in the box are some replica 7″ singles, surround sound and Dolby Atmos mixes for DVD and Blu-Ray, and a 76-page music book.
In a throwback to the press conference in a Planetarium where The Dark Side of the Moon premiered in 1973, the album will play in Planetariums around the world throughout March. The band has also launched a competition for animators to create new videos for the 10 tracks.
