Tibetan artist Ansa GaRangDengZhen or Zen in English has made a name for himself not only as a singer, but also as an activist that garnered quite a few awards. He has won the Outstanding Artist Award in the United States, the British Charity Artist Award, and the Chinese Love Star as well as serving as an ambassador for the Canadian Liver Fund, the China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation, the Tibet Aid and Development Foundation, He also proudly served as the Vice Chairman of the Tibetan Performing Arts Alliance.

Now Tibetan singing is a specific art in itself, and Zen seems to be pushing the boundaries on his latest single “Alaye” by combining traditional Tibetan music and his incomparable vocal abilities and singing with more current patterns in World music introducing elements of Western electronic and dance music.

The combination really works and exemplifies how to make a folk/modern musical combination be something that can appeal to a really wide audience. Fans of Buddha Bar compilations will really love this one with ease.
