The Grateful Dead Film Series Returns for 2022

‘Meet-Up At The Movies’ 2022 instalment will be available worldwide

According to Jambase, the Grateful Dead‘s Meet-Up At The Movies series returns to theaters worldwide for a 2022 instalment on Tuesday, November 1 with more screenings slated for Saturday, November 5 at theaters in the U.S., Canada, and select territories. This year’s selection is the band’s April 17, 1972 show at Tivoli Concert Hall in Copenhagen, Denmark to honor the 50th anniversary of the Grateful Dead’s historic Europe ’72 Tour.

The group’s appearance at Copenhagen’s Tivoli Concert Hall on April 17, 1972, featured the lineup of guitarists Jerry Garcia and Bob Weir, drummer Bill Kreutzmann, keyboardists Ron “Pigpen” McKernan and Keith Godchaux, bassist Phil Lesh and vocalist Donna Jean Godchaux.

The concert itself was taped as an appearance on Danish television with a portion broadcast live. Additionally, the concert marked the band’s first major live concert broadcast in any location and the first in Danish television history. Footage of the original broadcast has been fully restored and color corrected in High Definition for the upcoming screenings. Jeffrey Norman mixed the audio from the original master tapes. Nearly 90 minutes of the concert will be screened at Grateful Dead Meet-Up At The Movies 2022.

Tickets go on sale next Friday, September 23 at 10 a.m. ET. Follow this link to purchase Grateful Dead Meet-Up At The Movies 2022 tickets.
