We’re pleased to premiere the newest single from Highway Sniper before their full EP drops. Available exclusively here for 24-hours.
“Busy Signal At The Embassy” focuses on American foreign policy history and more specifically, how these actions came at a cost to United States citizens.
“It’s not really a fresh idea at all. Ordinary people blame each other more than they blame the elites. Neoliberalism wants people at each other’s throats because it’s good for business. You feel bad after a heated political argument because you’ve both been sold different distortions of the same story. We live in a culture that hates us. And I believe the same idea applies internationally.”
Highway Sniper is the brainchild of George Lucarelli, a bizarre individual from the Cleveland area who has a particular talent for writing and recording songs from many corners of the aggressive music spectrum. Since the earliest Highway Sniper material was reminiscent of stadium crust acts such as Tragedy or From Ashes Rise, vocalist/lyricist Skylar Sarkis employed politically charged and nihilistic lyrics.
The Great Satan is out on July 27th. Keep an eye out for pre-orders via Smartpunk Records.
