Brooklyn-based, but Chilean-born Caterina J doesn’t limit her music to a single language or genre, and her latest album, Reborn, is a rich, sensual testament to that.
The album is her first to feature songs in English, but nothing about it feels like the work of a timid novice. If anything, her first single in English, “Blazing Stars”, is the best song of the album, a musical palette, replete with charged, jazzy vibes, class, confidence, and sex appeal. Better yet, Caterina J’s natural elegance and finesse in her performance captures the imagination and takes it to a smoky jazz piano bar from a classic noir film, in which she plays a mysterious side character that ends up stealing the show.
Speaking of movies and stealing shows, she parlayed her early modeling work into a career in acting, so it’s no wonder that her music can have such a distinct, visual element to it, which we see in the video to “Sin Igual”, another song from Reborn.
Caterina J seems to be a multi-talented young artist, and we’re excited to see what the future holds for her. Reborn is coming out on January 11, 2021.
