Gimme Some Truth. The Ultimate Mixes is a new box set that will represent a retrospective of John Lennon’s solo career. It will feature 36 tracks and is being curated and produced by Yoko Ono and Sean Ono Lennon. The release date will be October 9 – commemorating his 80th birthday.
The final mixes for this set were done from scratch on vintage analog equipment, and the set will be available in vinyl, CD, and digital formats. LPs will be available as two or four album sets, while CDs as a single or a double set. The shorter set includes 19 of the 36 tracks.
The deluxe edition includes an 124-page book of interviews, previously unseen photographs, letters, lyric sheets, tape boxes, and more from the Lennon-Ono archives.
In her preface, Yoko Ono says that “John was a brilliant man with a great sense of humour and understanding. He believed in being truthful and that the power of the people will change the world. And it will. All of us have the responsibility to visualize a better world for ourselves and our children. The truth is what we create. It’s in our hands.”
