The Consequence of Sound (CoS) and a few other musical outlets report that Pink Floyd has started a โbrand new daily evolving playlist featuring rare or unreleased music previously not available online.โ The starting date for the list is Friday, May 22, and it goes under the name Syd, Roger, Richard, Nick, and David โ An Evolving Pink Floyd Playlist.
First up is a live version of โUs & Themโ, recorded at The Empire Pool, Wembley, London from 1974. This version did appear only on their 2011 Immersion box set of The Dark Side of The Moon.
It is planned that each day a new track will be added to the playlist, โranging from alternate versions of classic songs to deep cuts spanning the entirety of Pink Floydโs existence.โ
Friday will be reserved for the rare material from the above mentioned Immersion box set.
The band announced the playlist on Twitter saying that they โhope you enjoy reconnecting with these tracks over the coming weeks and would love to hear your suggestions for additions to the playlist.โ
The timing of the playlist release comes at a time when a new rift within the band became public. Roger Waters expressed his dissatisfaction that he was โdeletedโ from Pink Floydโs website and his release of a new solo concert film, yes, you guessed it, Us + Them.
The band already announced the schedule for their Friday playlist releases:
May 29 โ โHave A Cigarโ (Alternate Version) โ โWish You Were Hereโ Immersion
June 5 โ โAny Colour You Likeโ (Live at Wembley 1974) โ โThe Dark Side Of The Moonโ Immersion
June 12 โ โRun Like Hellโ (The Wall WIP pt2 Band Demo) โ โThe Wallโ Immersion
June 19 โ โMoneyโ (Early Mix 1972) โ โThe Dark Side Of The Moonโ Immersion
