Marshmello releases a new album and a mobile game to go along with it

The EDM star continues his love story with video gaming

A number of news outlets, musically.com among them, have reported that the EDM artist Marshmello has just released Joyride III, his latest album, and a mobile game to go along with it called Marshmello Music Dance. The game was developed by a Vietnamese developer that goes under the name of Gamejam, and it is supposed to work on the Tap Tap Revenge system where the fans listening to Joyride III would tap along to the songs from the album.

The game is developed for Android and IOS systems and is free to download, with in-app purchases of the game’s virtual gems. The game promo says: “Collect new characters to help you play through all of the songs! Build a strong team and crush those music tiles! Open your chest to discover and unlock new powerful characters! Will you get the legendary Marshmello?”

As Musically mentions, Marshmello is no stranger to gaming as he’s already teamed up with online star ‘Ninja’ to win pro-am Fortnite tournaments, and attracted more than 10 million people to his virtual concert within that game earlier this year. VentureBeat adds that, “Marshmello has clocked a staggering 2-plus billion streams across Spotify alone and with over 40 million monthly listeners on the platform. He is the fourth most streamed artist in the world on Spotify. His smash-hit single “Happier” with Bastille topped the charts around the world, with cumulative streams nearing one billion.”
