Just ahead of its third season, ‘Stranger Things’ gets its own Lego set

The toy company has probably hit the right note with both the show’s fans and toy collectors

Tie-ins are nothing new when a movie or a TV show achieves success with viewers, and the meteoric success of Netflix’s Stranger Things has brought its fair share. But ahead of the third season that is set to premiere on July 4, 2019, Lego, one of the world’s top toy companies, has come up with one truly exceptional.

It is a 2,287-piece Stranger Things set, and as The Verge, Engadget, Mashable, and other outlets report, it recreates the Byer’s home in its normal and upside down equivalents in very precise, but as some put it, usual Lego blocky detail.

Since there are quite a few fans of the show, but also Lego and toy collectors in general, the set doesn’t exactly come in cheap and will cost $200. If you are a Lego VIP member you can get it May 15, and if you are just a ‘regular’ fan, you’ll have to impatiently wait until June 1. Just enough time to assemble the set before the new season begins.

As Mashable points out, the set includes mini-figurines of the characters from the show, including Eleven, Mike Wheeler, Lucas Sinclair, Dustin Henderson, Will Byers, Joyce Byers, Chief Jim Hopper, and even ‘a cute little’ Demogorgon, and you can even build a replica of Chief Hopper’s police cruiser.

It just remains to be seen whether this will appeal more to fans of the show or Lego collectors.
