The Wombats – Beautiful People Will Ruin Your Life Reaction

Community Rating0 Votes

I may be real late to the party here but this is the first album from The Wombats that I’ve ever heard. But I’m loving what I’m hearing so far. Sonically and melodically Beautiful People Will Ruin Your Life is a beautiful record who’s bubbling upbeatness is infectious. Which is odd because the actual lyrical content is anything but; it’s all about heartbreak and a bad love – but hey I guess even a bad love is still love. It’s an interesting dichotomy and although they don’t do much with it beyond what’s on the surface level, it creates a sort of cathartic feeling. This may be my first Wombats album, but it’s evident that they have a strong grasp and understanding of pop-rock as they push and pull, give and take, at all of the right times. This may not be one of the deepest nor thought provoking rock albums I’ve heard in recent memory but it’s certainly one of the most enjoyable. And sometimes that’s what it’s all about.

The Begowatts - Grande Charade EP | Reactions | LIVING LIFE FEARLESS
Powerful, melodic, and lonesome guitar solos and sections, as well as instrumentals and vocals to match, are pivotal to the band's sound, making The Begowatts’ Grand Charade an EP even picky, nostalgic rock lovers would find themselves tapping and playing air guitar to.

Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds - Who Built the Moon? | Reactions | LIVING LIFE FEARLESS
Sonically, Who Built the Moon? is vastly more extensive than his past couple of projects and he sounds like he's got much more of a pep to his step. Noel Gallagher's latest feels refreshingly retro yet inventive and new and in turn makes for a much more interesting listen as a whole. This might just be the second wind he's really needed.

Wolf Alice - Visions Of A Life | Reactions | LIVING LIFE FEARLESS
Wolf Alice is fiery, fierce, and absolutely captivating on 'Visions of a Life' and pulls it all off with nonchalant indifference that reminds me of the rock from yesteryear. It revels in an intense youthful catharsis full of big payoffs and it keeps me coming back for more.
