Django Django have been bending genre expectations long before it was the cool thing to do. Their previous works all combined wildly different sounds and influences into largely enjoyable experiences. But while those previous efforts felt a bit more artsy in intention, the experimentation on Marble Skies feels done with the sole purpose of creating something fun. And it is fun; it’s a lighthearted, head nodding romp full of brilliant melodies and earworm hooks. It’s their most blatantly pop effort yet but that doesn’t mean they completely abandon their qurikiest characteristics. There’s still plenty of unexpected bursts of space synths and random noises throughout and they still have a clear affection for the more the more throwback sounds of decades past. Not to mention their almost nerd-like infatuation with all things sci-fi and space (“Beam Me Up”). But combining those sounds with more modern electronic elements and psychedelic undertones make it all their own. It’s almost impossible not to be pulled into their joyous orbit.

The Begowatts - Grande Charade EP | Reactions | LIVING LIFE FEARLESS
Powerful, melodic, and lonesome guitar solos and sections, as well as instrumentals and vocals to match, are pivotal to the band's sound, making The Begowatts’ Grand Charade an EP even picky, nostalgic rock lovers would find themselves tapping and playing air guitar to.

Fever Ray - Plunge | Reactions | LIVING LIFE FEARLESS
Fever Ray's sound is not easily quantifiable nor is it's intent, it's quintessential mood music and just one of those things where you just know it when you hear it. I'm not sure that I enjoyed Plunge as much as her first album, at least not immediately, but there's no denying the sheer creativity and boundary pushing present that succeeds at evoking emotional response better than almost anything else that comes to mind.

Tove Lo - BLUE LIPS (Lady Wood Phase II) Reaction | LIVING LIFE FEARLESS
Tove Lo creates an interesting dichotomy on her latest album with it's glossy, pristine production and her unabashedly sexually depraved and devious lyrics. It's a softcore raunchiness with incredible grooves that I can't help but continue to revisit.

“We see light pass through the door
Down through the lasting nighttime
You’ve had the back seat lately
She just left right through the door
Out to the breaking day
You’ve left without a trace this morning”
