Christina Aguilera is the latest once big pop star trying to make her second half career comeback and she’s the latest pop star trying to bare her more vulnerable, true self in the process. Now, I don’t watch The Voice and I don’t follow tabloids so I can’t really speak to how well she bared all or not. But considering that “Genie In A Bottle” is still my point of reference for her, Liberation certainly feels like a more genuine representation of her true artistic self. She’s always been one of the edgiest pop stars out of that whole generation she was a part of and her music still has that edge and unabashed sexuality to it, but here the focus is definitely more empowering, liberating, and at times vindictive. There’s not any particularly massive singles, but there are a lot of moments of interesting forays into different sounds and genres, especially the songs made with Kanye and Anderson .PAAK. Her always strong vocals mesh well with their soundscapes and I would have liked to have heard more sounds in that direction but all in all, Liberation is the most interesting I’ve found Christina Aguilera in a long time.

After a tumultuous past 4 years Lily Allen bares it all on No Shame and it's resulting in one of her most compelling projects to date.

James Bay - Electric Light Reaction | Reactions | LIVING LIFE FEARLESS
Evolving and progressing your sound is always a tricky affair but on "Electric Light" James Bay has been able to pull it off 'almost' flawlessly - giving his core fans what they fell in love with in the first place while boldly pushing into a new audience and direction without it feeling forced or gimmicky.

Little girls, listen closely
‘Cause no one told me
But you deserve to know
That in this world, you are not beholden
You do not owe them
Your body and your soul
