“I Found You” is the type of song that doesn’t just earn a solid place in the music charts, but also in people’s heads.
It’s a very simplistic song that revolves very heavily around the singing and might have had a diametrically opposite effect if it wasn’t for Ze Rox’s very pleasant, mellow, unassuming vocals that sound like a more sonorous version of Prince’s voice.
Bright and brilliantly embellished with tasteful touches on guitar, "Humility" sounds like sunlight should and would, if it had a sound. Wooping, warbling, sliding... It's relaxed soul and upbeat jazz jumbled up together. Great stuff and a standout among their latest releases, for sure.
Thirty Seconds to Mars have apparently gone from assailing our senses with Deftones-level walls of sound to ooohhhhing and aaaahhhhing at us with, frankly, derivative tunes. A fairly straightforward EDM experience, but way less rock than there ought to be.
“If you come as a stranger
We’ll get real close tonight
I think we could start a party
You bring those flashing lights
Leave handprints all across you
Leave me inside your mind”
Nevertheless, “I Found You’s” nice, casual beat and general vibe make for a musical background you can always enjoy a ‘whiskey sprite’ to, as the singer suggests in the song.
Overall, a pleasant, somewhat innocent, yet modern-sounding song which is a rare combination in today’s day and age.
