For those that donโt know Quality Control is the label out of Atlanta thatโs famous for putting on the Migos and Lil Yachty, as well as being headed by the one time manager of both Young Jeezy and Gucci Mane. So say what you want about both of these new acts, thereโs no denying that this indie label knows their talent and knows how to make hit acts. Trying to strike while the ironโs the hottest and put on even more of their acts, theyโve hit us with their first compilation project and like with most compilations itโs a highly mixed bag of some truly great and a whole lot of throwaway material. Because in reality their roster isnโt full of a bunch of Migos or Migos-in-the-making, a fact that they seem to know themselves as the project is incredibly Migos heavy โ essentially Migos and friends. A smart move on their parts but it did very little to convince that their other acts are worth my attention. If anything, it really just got me even more hyped forย Culture 2. Quality Controlโs first compilation has some true highlights here but you have to dig through a lot of trash to get to a โPop Sh*t.โ
โI donโt got time for no foolery (who?)
Iโm โbout to go drop on some jewelry (hey!)
Iโma tell you lil niggas somethinโ (lil nigga!)
Fame blowinโ all you niggasโ money (fame!)
Maintain, gotta keep a hunnid cominโ (hoo!)
Ainโt no pain like the name with no money (pain!)โ
Have you heardย Quality Control: Control the Streets, Vol. 1? Whatโd you think about it? Are you looking to any other artists outside of the Migos? Let me know in the comments below and be sure to leave your own ratings and reactions to the compilation.
