Lil Baby has been on a tear as of late. I first really took notice of him on Quality Controlโs compilation album; outside of the Migos he was one of the standouts on the tape. Although he may have come up under the likes of Young Thug and Migos, heโs much more grounded and practical, both as a rapper and in his personality. Aside from the beat selection and his almost half-sung delivery you could guess that he came from the early days of trap music before the eccentrics took over. And in a day and age where everyone in rap is trying so hard to be โalternativeโ thatโs left a void for his brand and style of rap to fit in nicely. He doesnโt say anything I havenโt heard before but heโs got a great delivery and frankness to him that allows you to picture everything heโs talking about, the beats are appropriately hard, and heโs already tapping into great features.ย Harder Than Ever is a polished, effortless listen that shows off his full range as an artist. If nothing else, itโs great proof as to why Lil Baby might just be next up.
Only time Iโm in crowed, they both tell
They can say it was vacuum sealed with no smell
I was sitting in jail with no bail
I was sitting in prison getting no mail
My nigga switching up on me I donโt careโ โThrowing Shadeโ
